Scope of Services to Solicitors and Employers

We provide expert witness reports in connection with the special educational needs and disability Tribunal and the Courts. We also provide reports for proceedings within the Criminal Justice System. We provide reports for Child and Family Law proceedings and Employment matters.

Special Education Needs

We accept referrals from solicitors acting for the parents of children with special educational needs and also in connection with educational negligence matters. We have worked in these fields for many years. We provide evidence for the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal (SENDIST) and the Special Educational Needs Tribunal for Wales. We have worked with the special needs Tribunal system since its inception and have prepared hundreds of reports. We have also had extensive experience in legal appeals including to the High Court.

Criminal Justice System

We have many years of experience in preparing reports for the Court whether this be a sole or joint instruction. We specialise in preparing the following kind of reports:

    • IQ and cognitive capacity
    • Educational achievement and learning difficulty
    • Mental capacity and Fitness to Plead
    • Pre-sentencing
    • Sentencing

A significant part of our experience is with children, young people and adults who have understanding and learning difficulties and/or developmental disorders such as: Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, ADHD, Asperger's Syndrome/Autism, Social Emotional and Behavioual Difficulties (SEBD) etc.

Employment Law

We prepare reports in connection with employment disputes and prepare reports on a joint instruction basis or by instruction from an employee or employer. The reports we prepare can involve the following:

    • Learning Difficulty assessments such as Dyslexia or Dyscalculia
    • Recommendations for support adjustment and provisions in the workplace
    • Capacity to work
    • Disability Discrimination Act/ Employment Tribunal

 

Child and Family Law Proceedings

We provide reports in connection with a range of family court matters.
